How to choose a USB nightstand

A nightstand with built-in USB and AC outlets saves you from hunting for a wall plug behind the bed. Here is what actually matters before you buy.

1. Where the outlets sit

Look at the back edge of the top, not the side facing the room. Outlets on the rear keep cords out of sight and leave the top free for a lamp or book. Check that the cord reach from the nightstand to the wall is realistic for your outlet location — you may need a short extension if the wall plug is centered behind the headboard.

2. Size next to the bed

Match height to your mattress top, or slightly below. A piece around 22" wide and 18" deep fits most full and queen setups without crowding the walkway. Measure the gap between bed frame and wall so the nightstand can sit flush.

3. Drawer and weight

One deep drawer is enough for a charger, glasses, and a couple of remotes. Heavier nightstands (roughly 60–70 lb) feel more stable when you lean on them; plan for two people when you move the box indoors.

4. Veneer care

Natural oak veneer likes a damp cloth and mild soap — skip abrasive cleaners and standing water. Use coasters for drinks. Soft pads under lamps prevent scuffs on the top.

5. Freight expectations

Nightstands often ship as a single parcel or small freight piece. For US addresses, outdoor or threshold drop-off in about 1 to 3 weeks is typical after you pay. Someone should be available to bring it inside. If we cannot fulfill your order, you get a full refund.
